I have cleaned up some of the code and fixed a couple bugs, so I am releasing a 0.0.3 in case anyone is out there testing.

The big TODO items to tackle are per-instance configuration that can be accessed inside the listener and some mechanism for authentication that allows for a flexible security system.

Nathan Smith's Gravatar I have tested slimbot with jabber on my jabbernow appliance and it is working. I like the plugin design you have created. Is jabberbot analagous to a certain bot from another network like IRC? I hope people will develop some additional plugins.
Thanks for sharing it with the Apache License. If I write a useful plugin I will be sure to shre it somewhere and let you know.
